Surplus ammunition is extra ammo that has become available to parties beyond the original contract recipient often a government. Sometimes the ammo has become obsolete due to age, weapons systems changes or a variety of other reasons. When this happens, governments are able to recoup a portion of their expense by selling this ammo as surplus.

Beware the average American. When their rights are red-taped away, when they are abused, made into victims and treated as if some of their freedoms were the cause of criminal violence, they will stand up, fists clenched, and demand respect. Even after losses in courts and legislatures, they wont give up advocating for what is right.

Welcome to todays Photo of the Day! Here we have a rifle that was designed in the late 1990s to be the new modern do all rifle. This is the Steyr SBS-96 Scout. The Steyr SBS-96 Scout was introduced in 1998 and is still made today in the following cartridges: .223 Rem., .243 Win., 6,5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08 Rem., .308 Win. Its purpose lies more with survival and general use than recreation or self defense. It was supposed to be a decent sort of hunting rifle that was lightweight and had a capacity and rapidity to it. On top of that it was made to be versatile in features. |

The safe management of human waste is a really big deal, particularly in a military environment. During the American Civil War, more lives were lost as the result of disease than enemy action. Much of this carnage could be attributed to suboptimal hygiene. One of the biggest advances in field waste management is the humble Porta-John. These ubiquitous little portable outhouses come in both blue and desert tan. While hardly pleasant, they do a simply splendid job of managing mankinds unmentionables, even in an austere environment.

Dozens of New York law makers are urging Visa and Mastercard to create a new firearms-specific category code which would in effect flag gun purchases in the state and around the country.
The Gothamist reports the law makers sent a letter to the credit card companies, in which they urge Visa and Mastercard to move guns out from under a broad category like sporting goods, placing them under one that refers specifically to guns or gun stores.

A United States District Court for the District of Colorado has issued a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against the Town of Superior to prevent enforcement of their recent assault weapon and magazine ban, based on the Supreme Court ruling in NYSR&PA v. Bruen. This appears to be the first of many pending cases likely to knock down laws which infringe on the exercise of Second Amendment rights under the Bruen decision. |

A federal judge in Texas has stayed for 30 days his ruling striking down a ban on carrying handguns by young adults aged 18-20, allowing the state time to file a possible appeal in the case, which has gotten subdued national attention.
U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman, a Donald Trump appointee, explained in his ruling, The issue is whether prohibiting law-abiding 18-to-20-year-olds from carrying a handgun in public for self-defense is consistent with this Nations historical tradition of firearm regulation.

This week the California Legislature enters the final week of the legislative session with several anti-gun bills eligible for floor action. It's critical that you contact your legislators and voice your opposition to AB 1227 (Excise Tax), SB 918 (CCW Reform), and AB 2870 (GVRO Expansion). These bills, on top of the bills already passed and signed this session, will gravely impact your Second Amendment Rights in California by adding additional costs, burdens and restrictions. |

Nowadays, during what historians will likely call Obamas third term, Joe, Kamala, and the rest of the White House commissars have targeted every link of the firearm chain: from the manufacturers who produce the weapons to the credit card processors who facilitate the transactions, to the carriers who ship the guns to the dealers and man, have they ever targeted our gun dealers. |

We preach carrying as much gun as possible, but for people who live in the real world in which professional and social obligations do not lend well to dressing around a full-size gun, a deep concealment pistol is needed. When out and about in casual clothing, I carry a double-stack 9mm pistol, but when I need to dress formally for certain social obligations, I usually carry a small revolver.

I grew up watching 80s films, so revolvers always seemed present in my gun repertoire. My father and grandfather both shot revolvers whenever they had the occasion to shoot a pistol. My tastes have changed over the years, but I can still appreciate a cylinder with holes bored for six. Todays subject is one of those classic pistol designs that seem timeless in their execution, the S&W 629 Mountain Gun chambered in the admirable .44 Remington Magnum.
