"You won't find a better bargain anywhere. For the small price of $35, you can help employ the services of an organization that will fight for your right to defend yourself and your property, not to mention your hunting privileges and your rights to simply go out and plink targets with a .22 rifle if you so desire."

"I'm talking about the National Rifle Association, a most hated organization by anti-gun enthusiasts. ..." ...

"Several Kearney residents are tired of being the only ones in Nebraska not allowed to carry concealed weapons."

"Last month, Kearney mayor Galen Hadley said the city council wasn't even taking up the issue, because citizens hadn't requested it. A group of residents are saying if the mayor hasn't heard them yet, he will. They've gotten together and formed the Kearney 'Right to Carry Concealed' Taskforce. Tonight was the first meeting for people to join, and to inform anyone interested in learning about the concealed-carry ban. The people who attended also brainstormed ideas to bring to the city council."

"The California Senate on Thursday passed a bill that would require the "microstamping" of semi-automatic handguns -- giving cartridges fired from those guns a unique imprint, which according to gun control advocates, would help police solve crimes." ...

"Nonsense, say Second Amendment supporters, who view the bill as yet another attempt to burden gun manufacturers and further restrict gun sales in the state. They say that gun makers, faced with the added expense of microstamping semiautomatic weapons, would either stop selling their wares in California or drastically raise prices." ...

"I have been aware of the Columbus Assault Weapon Ban (AWB) since its inception and understood its implications, but have never dug into the actual legal code that defines it. If ever one sought a perfect example of an ineffectual law passed by politicians and anti-gun advocates in order to stir up a lot of unnecessary hand-wringing with well-meaning, but misled, citizens... this would be it." ...
