Officials from the New York City Police said that an officer has been arrested on charges of raping a 25-year-old teacher in an apartment backyard. Michael Pena, the accused officer, was not on duty at the time of committing the crime and was jailed after the incident on Friday morning in the Inwood section of Manhattan, a Daily Mail report stated. The woman was tricked by the accused officer who approached her asking directions initially, showed her a gun and dragged her several blocks to the backyard, where he raped her. The woman ran towards the officers screaming "He raped me," and "be careful he has a gun," reported the New York Daily. ... The department said the officer has been suspended without pay.

Residents may have noticed that language prohibiting them from carrying concealed firearms without a permit has been covered up on the citys signs regarding regulations residents must follow within its parks.
This was done after it was brought to the citys attention that the signs had not changed even though it can no longer regulate people carrying concealed firearms at its parks due to a bill that became state law last year, City Manager Chuck Potucek said.
The city is preparing to install new signs, which still prohibit the discharge of firearms in city parks but do not ban people from carrying them, as the new state law does not give them that ability, said Victoria Yarbrough, director of Leisure and Library Services. |

We're learning more on why the U.S. Air Force raided a local gun store Friday. They say it wasn't guns they were looking for. An official from the Air Force is speaking to Action News about that raid. New information clarifies that this may have been an inside job, and the penalties could turn out to be very severe. It was an afternoon that rocked businesses near Dean Martin and Flamingo. Local and federal law enforcement agencies swarmed in and served search warrants on Citadel Gun and Safe. New information gives us an insight on the massive raid that up until now, authorities were tight lipped about. Turns out it was the Air Force Office of Special Investigations that led the raid.

In Monday's article"As police remove guns from city, more flow in to take their place," Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath refers to having little local control over guns because of state and federal laws.
The fabric of our society is being torn apart by the proliferation of guns. Because of a pervasive misunderstanding of the Second Amendment, many state governments have enacted the most egregious gun laws. Even the Supreme Court in the latest two Second Amendment cases, both by 5-to-4 decisions, has contributed to emasculating the ability of governments at all levels to protect the people. This is one of the primary purposes of government. |

An off-duty New York City police officer accused of raping a teacher is being held on bail of $500,000 cash or $1 million bond.
Officer Michael Pena was arraigned Saturday in Manhattan Criminal Court on charges of first-degree rape, criminal sexual act and predatory sexual assault. His defense attorney could not immediately be reached by telephone.
Pena is accused of grabbing the 25-year-old woman off a residential street, showing her a gun and raping her in a backyard. He was arrested Friday by officers after police say a witness saw through her window that something was happening in the backyard and called 911.
Pena has been suspended without pay. He is an officer in the 33rd Precinct in Washington Heights.

Three people - including the father of the man who killed Berks County Deputy Sheriff Kyle D. Pagerly - were arrested Friday on charges they supplied guns to the killer.
Matthew M. Connor, 25, used an AK-47 rifle to mortally wound Pagerly on June 29 behind the Connor home in the first block of Pine Swamp Road, Albany Township, and was then shot dead by police.
Following a several-week investigation, state police arrested two people on charges involving that weapon: Connor's father, Maurice L. Connor, 70, a retired Cherry Hill, N.J., parking enforcement officer; |

Chicago and Toronto are roughly equal in size. Yet Chicago averages 450 gun murders per year, while Toronto has fewer than 60. Why are Chicagoans seven times more violent and deadly than Toronto residents? Maybe it's because Canada has sensible gun control laws.
Chicago's public radio station is airing a series titled "Under the Gun." The first episode featured the contrast with Toronto. Ontario Attorney General Michael Bryant said he nearly was impeached by irate citizens in 2005 when Toronto suffered an abnormal upsurge to 79 gun murders. "They wanted me to resign, wanted me to come up with solutions," he recalled. |

Defenders of the Second Amendment couldn't have asked for a greater gift than the spectacle of unarmed policemen and defenseless citizens standing by helplessly while rampaging hordes of youths burned London and beat up and murdered innocent residents.
Europhiles endlessly remind us of the superiority, compassion and refinement of the European social democracies.
But the anarchy that raged in England couldn't happen in America. At least not in my neighborhood, where every third house contains a hunter with a gun safe full of pistols, shotguns and rifles. |

Anyone following this story already knows that Fast and Furious was an attempt to subvert the Second Amendment. That is a given and is nothing new. This administration is arguably the most anti-gun of any before. From the pResident [sic] on down. Even in applications to work for this administration, there were questions regarding whether applicants owned guns, had they ever been used, etc. |

I read the story in the paper about Ed Magee dropping his pistol during a Town Hall meeting. The Granby Town Council and mayor are now restricting the public from carrying guns in Town Hall. They missed the point totally, and I want them to know it.
The issue is not about carrying a gun in Town Hall. The incident happened because Mr. Magee was carrying a pistol in the waistband of his pants, and not in a proper holster inside his clothes. |

Newark-based group Stop Shootin' Inc. is holding a toy gun exchange program on Monday. They're asking children to bring in their toy guns, water pistols or cap guns and exchange them for a positive toy or a book.
Newark City Councilman Ras Baraka says more children and teenagers die each year from gunfire than from cancer, the flu, HIV/AIDS or other causes combined.

A leading Second Amendment scholar was interviewed about the loss of gun rights in the United Kingdom and the early August riots there by Guns & Patriots on Aug. 13, four days after returning from Great Britain. The Labor Party immediately jumped on the riots and blamed them on the austerity budget cuts of the Conservative Party, said Prof. Joyce Lee Malcolm, who teaches courses on common law and the Constitution, specifically the Second Amendment, at George Mason University Law School in Fairfax, Va. But, they pulled that back because it became quickly obvious that it was sheer hooliganism. |

In Lake [County], some guns looked rusty and dusty. Others were left over from World War II. But while many appeared to be inoperable, others had sawed-off barrels and featured other illegal modifications, which enhanced their danger. Two had been reported stolen, according to deputies, who ran the serial numbers through law-enforcement databases.
Deputies also collected an AR-15 assault rifle with a banana-shaped ammunition clip.
"Why do you need that in Lake County," asked Barb Bergin, executive director of Crimeline, a co-sponsor of the program. |

President Obama wants you to believe America's founders were in error when they gave citizens the right to bear arms.
The administration and even their Mexican counterparts have manipulated public opinion to believe that the cartel drug wars are being fueled largely by American guns. In support of that spin, they are now trying to impose a new rule and regulation that requires licensed firearms dealers in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California to report to the federal government whenever someone buys from them more than one semiautomatic rifle with certain characteristics. |
