... "Based on the history of gun buyback programs, I am not convinced that they do anything to remove guns from the streets in a way that actually prevents crime. However, in discussing the buyback program with a few people, something was brought up that I hadnt given much thought to before. As many of the firearms sold in gun buyback programs are described as not working and not the typical weapons used in crimes today, that means that some may be antiques that have been stored in the attic of someone who doesnt want them or know how to dispose of them.""This could lead to the potential destruction of guns that are part of our countrys history which would be melted down and lost." ... |

"Youve seen this in the movies. A group of gangsters surrounds an innocent bystander. One of the thugs pulls out a bat and smashes the poor guys windshield. 'It'd be a shame if this sorta thing continued to happen,' says the thug. Unable to afford any future damage to his property, the bystander-turned-victim is now forced to surrender his money to the mob so they can 'protect' his belongings."
"President Barack Obama and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder are now using this same mob-style tactic on American gun owners." ... |

International entities are vigorously trying to usurp America's exclusive 'right' to 'keep and bear arms,' as dictated by Second Amendment to the Constitution, are just as dangerous to our Republic as the anti-gun politicians in Washington. The executive branch will have you believe they are supportive of gun owners rights, but really they are not." ... |

... "I have a question: How long will your safe protect valuables when a home-invasion gang is holding a pistol to your two-year-old daughter's head? There's a lot of guys who have some gold or silver tucked away on the top shelf of their gun safes. That's fine. But what I am questioning here is the belief that a safe -- and a safe alone, absent firearms and the will to use them -- can protect your valuables from predators. Even if it is a break-in while you are not there, they will discover the safe, conclude it has valuables, and come back later with a better plan and a bigger crew when you are home to open it for them and available for a little friendly persuasion." ... |

"Competition. Carry. Is it possible to buy a pistol which satisfies the IDPA-driven need for speed and accuracy with self-defense safety and concealability? Over the last few months I narrowed my search for one handgun to rule them both. I set my heart on a high quality an-all steel 1911 with a four inch barrel. And there she was, lingering inside the gun show loophole: a month-old Kimber Super Carry Pro HD. Kimbers first all steel 4″ carry model. All it took was two checks, my background and my money . . ." ... |

"You cant kill it with a stick: the argument that the 'right to bear arms' is a collective right ... This despite the fact that all of the other Amendments in the so-called Bill of Rights confer individual rights. And the U.S. Supreme Court has reaffirmed this interpretation; its 'established case law.' Stare decisis. But thats not good enough for gun grabbers. Or John Massaro. The former State University of New York at Stony Brook assistant football coach has written a book called NO GUARANTEE OF A GUN: How and Why the Second Amendment Means Exactly What It Says (AuthorHouse, 2009). As TTAGs editorial budget cant cover the $45.99 purchase price, I asked Massaro to share some of the books ideas ..." ... |

... "Gunloons are not nice. They have independent thoughts. A gunloon might actually harm another citizen and call it 'self defense' just because the other citizen is robbing their elderly grandmother and beating the s**t out of her with a tire iron. Heres news for you, gunloons. The government robs grandmothers every day, and for big bucks, too. We call it 'redistribution of wealth.' And just to show you that we treat everyone equally, Grampas gonna get cornholed, too." ... |

"The Florida State legislature has taken steps towards securing Second Amendment rights by eliminating restrictions on firearms. The measures, which will be enacted on October 1, will impose penalties on public officials who pass or enforce gun regulations at the state level. Violators face a $5,000 personal fine and may risk being removed from office by the governor. Florida already had a law that made it illegal to pass gun regulations beyond those imposed through state statutes since 1987. The Blaze explains the necessity for this new law:" ... |

"You may recall the recent ATF raid on Elite Ammunition. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (and Really Big Fires) swooped down on the small ammunition maker and confiscated their entire inventory and computers, vowing to use the data to track down Elites buyers and take their brass ammo as well. The ATF Agent in charge claimedbut not in writingthat the existence of rifle-caliber handguns in .223, 6.5 Grendel and 6.8SPC means that brass ammunition in those calibers is now considered armor piercing. It is, therefore, banned. Since then, the ATF sent Elite a letter confirming this 'new' regulation. ... The relevant text is as follows . . ." ... |
