"As Miller says, 'The truth is, most politicians support gun rights because it is politically expedient. Our founders embraced the right to keep and bear arms as fundamental. They knew that for a free people, it was not just a personal right, but a political right, the last line of defense against a tyrannical government.'

Target has followed Starbuckss and Chipotles lead and is asking gun owners not to carry in their stores.

That is totally different from banning guns.

Its meant to shut up the Lying Moms Demand Action (LMDA) members (all 30 of them), while leaving everything else status quo.

** For gun owners, it really means nothing has changed at all. **

The first mass murder in the U.S. wasnt by someone shooting a gun; it was by Andrew Kehoe on May 18, 1927, in Bath Township, Michigan, and killed 38 elementary school children and six adults and injured at least 58 other people. Kehoe first killed his wife, firebombed his farm and detonated a major explosion in the Bath Consolidated School before committing suicide by detonating a final explosion in his truck. It is the deadliest mass murder in a school in United States history, Wikipedia says. If you want to kill you dont need a gun.

The Yates County GOP has this billboard up in the Finger Lakes in support for Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino, encouraging gun owners to register to vote to support him.

Actually, its basically saying that if you dont want to register your guns through the SAFE Act, the tough gun-control law last year championed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, you need to register to vote and vote for Astorino.

Effective July 1, 2014, two Idaho laws involving the use of guns go into effect. Both bills were backed by the National Rifle Association (NRA) and were passed in the Idaho Legislature and signed into law by Governor Butch Otter (R) during the 2014 legislative session.

Senate Bill 1254 will permit qualified retired law enforcement officers and law-abiding adults who have obtained an Idaho enhanced license to carry a concealed weapon to possess a concealed firearm on public college or university campuses.

Senators Mike Lee (R-UT), Rand Paul (R-KY) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) are prepared to offer genuine pro-gun amendments to this bill like defunding Operation Choke Point and more.

But heres the problem: Anti-gun Senator Harry Reid will try to use a procedural tactic called an amendment tree to block Lee, Paul, and Cruz from offering any pro-gun amendments.

These pro-gun Senators want to offer good amendments like concealed carry reciprocity, but that wont be possible if Harry Reid blocks their ability to offer pro-gun amendments with an amendment tree.

Target spokesman Molly Snyder told the Wire that they are requesting that people do not carry any firearms in our stores, including concealed carry. We will continue to follow local laws, however, concealed weapons are included in our position. However, Target has no plans to actually enforce its request. The Wire asked Snyder if Target will ask a gun-toting customer to leave and she said: Because this is a request and not a prohibition, we do not plan to communicate with our customers at this time.

Imagine living in a country where armed soldiers crash through doors to arrest and imprison citizens merely for criticizing government officials. Imagine that in this very same country, you're watched all the time, and if you look even a little bit suspicious, the police stop and frisk you or pull you over to search you on the off chance you're doing something illegal. Keep in mind that if you have a firearm of any kind while in this country, it may get you arrested and, in some circumstances, shot by police.

If you're thinking this sounds like America today, you wouldn't be far wrong. However, the scenario described above took place more than 200 years ago...

At a town hall event with CNN on June 17, Hillary Clinton attacked opponents of stricter gun control. She stated, We cannot let a minority of people, and thats what it is, it is a minority of people, hold a viewpoint that terrorizes the majority of people. [Emphasis added.] She distorted her opponents as terrorists.

She was also wrong about opponents being in the minority. A Gallup poll from early October 2013 found that 49 percent of Americans wanted laws covering the sale of firearms to be more strict, 13 percent favored less strict laws, 37 percent wanted them kept the same and 1 percent had no opinion. Otherwise stated, 49 percent were for and 50 percent were against increased gun control.

The federal government has tried for years to put the Bundys out of business and they had already taken a large portion of Bundy's land for the desert tortoise. Representative Dina Titus stated two times on the Jon Ralston show that our government has been trying for years to get the rest of their land, and added that this whole episode has just set them back.

The "armed gang" you referred to were citizens demonstrating their Second Amendment rights. Remember, it was the heavily armed BLM that showed up with weapons first. And do you ever remember the our government taking armed guards to collect a debt?

Ladies are going crazy for "discreet" bra holsters at the NRA store, and the gents are carrying in Carytown, much to the dismay of the fixie crowd. It's all happening for Second Amendment Men and Women today.

First, to Richmond, Virginia, where the charming young men in the photograph abovein front of a children's book store, next to a toy storehave taken their appeal for equality with the gun-bereft to the artsy bohemian Carytown retail district. The "Open Cary" crew takes a weekly stroll through the streets, with a 300-strong rally planned for Independence Day.

Last month Smith & Wesson, one of the top gun manufacturers in America, reported a steep drop in sales in its latest quarterly earnings report. Sales plunged more than 10 percent, and forecasts warn of a further decline in the coming year. This was a huge surprise to investors considering that the company is the second largest publicly traded firearms manufacturer in the United States.

Profits came up short due to a decline in long rifle guns. More specifically, sales of assault style weapons have seen the most precipitous decline. This coincides with a steep decline in the number of background checks conducted in the early part of this year when compared to the same time last year.

Girls With Guns, Females With Firearms, Babes with Bullets, or whatever alliterative form you prefer -- bottom line, the gentler gender has developed a relationship with packing hardware.

I love guns -- never met one I didnt like. Ive shot um all and love em all, says Sandy Froman, a Tucson attorney and former two-time president of the National Rifle Association who carries a gun whenever legally allowed.

Not bad for a woman who waited to pull the trigger on her first firearm until she was in her early 30s. Even that decision was prompted by necessity when someone tried to break into her home.

At a town hall meeting in Mountainside, the thunder outside was nothing compared to the storm of comments from anti-gun advocates in the room.

Congressman Leonard Lance (R-7th District) held a well-attended public town hall meeting in Mountainside on a rainy Wednesday night, a day after his office was visited by members of the advocacy group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.

The Congressman was introduced by Mountainside Mayor Paul Mirabelli, who praised: He never loses his head. One thing you can always count on is his common sense. Lances calm was tried, though, as people in the crowd criticized his position on gun control.

Gov. Chris Christie conditionally vetoed a controversial bill that would have limited gun magazines to 10 rounds or less, and then kicked the bill back to the New Jersey legislature with a host of mental health changes attached.

The bill, A2006, would have dropped the states current 15-round magazine limit down to 10, a move that the Governor found to be without merit.
