We know that the news media distorts our view of the world. If we study it for very long then we'll see where the news media dangerously twists the truth about armed defense. Ordinary citizens keep their families safe every day but the media sells us a different story.

Here is what the mainstream media wont say.

Democratic Rep. Chris Murphy of Connecticut tried to politicize the Uvalde massacre to argue against gun owner rights, but he faced a wave of backlash on social media.

Murphy argued against the commonly used phrase "good guy with a gun" in self-defense cases by citing the much maligned police response in Uvalde.

"The Uvalde video puts to bed, forever, the question of whether the way to deal with bad guys with guns is to make sure there are more good guys with guns," tweeted Murphy.

The first step (and the most important one) should be the reinstatement of the expired 1994 Assault Weapons Ban, signed into law by President Bill Clinton, that was effective in reducing crime and getting military-style weapons off the streets. Its expiration was a mistake that is responsible for many children and adult lives being loss senselessly. Unfortunately, many Republicans in the Senate are more concerned about their reelection than supporting gun regulation that could save precious lives.

We are the only country in the world with more guns than people gun owners possess over 393 million guns and the U.S. population stands at slightly over 332 million.

In the eyes of liberals in Washington and around the country, Mitch McConnell remains a vanguard of obstruction and a bulwark of the gains made by the conservative movement. But on this summers most significant piece of federal legislation the first gun control measure to clear Congress in nearly 30 years McConnell is seen as a moderate, at least among Republicans in Kentucky.

I wanted to test some .32-caliber loads, and I picked a Ruger LCRx in .327 Federal Magnum to test them. I loaded about a hundred different rounds and began shooting them. Halfway through the second day of testing, Rick Maccia, my gunsmith friend, picked up my LCRx and inspected it. He pointed out a few things on my LCRx I hadnt noticed.

The Ruger LCRx in .327 Federal Magnum is a 17 oz., monolithic steel-framed, 6-shot revolver with a polymer fire-control housing. It has a 1/16″ barrel with a flat face and target crown. The original LCR models were 13 oz.

On Thursday, June 23, 2022, the Supreme Court issued a landmark decision to protect our Second Amendment rights. If youre anything like me, you were cheering and breathing a sigh of relief. This was a huge win for the 2A community, but the question remains How will it affect current and future laws in anti-gun states?

Multiple emails leaked to AmmoLand News have shown that New York State plans to shut down the permitting process on September 1, 2022.
At least until the Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) and Superintendent of State Police come up with the details of the newly required and likely difficult training regime under CCIA. The estimated date for the training course to be designed and submitted to the State for approval is April 1, 2023!?

That means that New York State will stop issuing permits for seven (7) months.

In Bruen, a New York based NRA-affiliate challenged only New Yorks regulation of the concealed carry of a firearm. But rather than limit themselves to that question, the six member majority, including Roberts, also considered New Yorks regulation of the open carry of a firearm, and found New Yorks law was unconstitutional.

Second, the majority opinion in Bruen did not follow the text of the Constitution although they proclaimed to do just that on the basis of individual right.

A Florida homeowner will not face criminal charges after opening fire with an AK-47-style rifle during an armed home invasion around midnight July 7, police said July 8.

Three suspects broke into the mans residence where one pulled a handgun from his waistband and the two others shoved the victim, Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said. The victim attempted to reach for his handgun, but one of the suspects retrieved it after it slipped and fell to the floor.

Republican Montana Sen. Steve Daines introduced legislation Monday that would allow for those who live in a concealed carry or Constitutional carry state to carry their concealed firearms in other states.

The legislation, first obtained by the Daily Caller, is titled the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. The bill would ensure a Montana resident can legally conceal carry a gun into a state where the states own residents can conceal carry. This bill also allows for individuals with a state-issued concealed carry license to conceal a gun in any other state, as long as the permit holder follows the laws of that state.

In light of these recent developments, Nikki Fried, Florida's agriculture and consumer services commissioner, who sued the Biden administration earlier this year to allow medicinal cannabis cardholders in the state to purchase and possess firearms, filed a revised complaint in a federal district court on Friday, according to Marijuana Moment. The initial case was filed in April of this year. Fried's lawyers and other plaintiffs contended that under the recent SCOTUS ruling, current government policy prohibiting persons who admit to using marijuana during the background check process from purchasing and carrying firearms could not be implemented.

Quite possibly in ten years Ill grow tired of reading learned analysis and breakdowns of NYSRPA v. Bruen. As I explained to my wife when we were driving in the car on November 3, 2021, going from Garden to Bay State, and I insisted on listening to the live feed of the arguments, This is my Super Bowl. Ive spent a lifetime listening to people talk about sportsball, as if thats important, up to and including guests leaving my home from a gathering early so they were home in time for the Pats, its my time now.

The House of Representatives passed the Active Shooter Alert Act on Wednesday, sending legislation to the Senate that would create an Amber Alert-style communication network to send mobile alerts to people close to active shooter situations.

The proposal previously passed with bipartisan support but not enough to clear an expedited vote requiring a two-thirds majority last month. That was due to a batch of House Democratic lawmakers voting against it. The legislation was spurred by a spate of mass shootings over the past six weeks, the most recent being at a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois.

Today, Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding that they cease their attempts to illegally obtain information from local sheriffs on Missourians who have concealed carry permits. Missouri law specifically prohibits the sharing of information on concealed carry permit holders to any entity local, state, federal, or otherwise.

The FBI has absolutely no business poking around in the private information of those who have obtained a concealed carry permit in Missouri, said Attorney General Schmitt. The Second Amendment rights of Missourians will absolutely not be infringed on my watch.

On June 23, the U.S. Supreme Court recognized a constitutional right for citizens to carry a firearm outside the home for self-defense. The opinion invalidates the licensing regimes for carry permits in California, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and the District of Columbia.

Although New York and New Jersey each allow for licenses to carry, they were previously limited to those who could show some extraordinary need, and therefore not available to the average citizen.

Despite the gun control law he just signed and the Supreme Courts Bruen decision, President Joe Biden told the nation we wants more gun control. He wants to ban guns.

President Biden demanded Congress reinstate the failed 1994 Assault Weapons Ban to usher in a new era of strict gun control to deny law-abiding citizens their Second Amendment rights.

Were living in a country awash in weapons of war, the president said, according to Fox News. I am determined to ban these weapons again, and high capacity magazines that hold 30 rounds, and let mass shooters fire hundreds of bullets in a matter of minutes. Im not going to stop until we do it.

For someone new to firearm ownership, it may be surprising to discover that there can be as much complexity regarding different types of ammunition as there is in selecting the firearm itself. Heres a quick guide to understanding different characteristics of ammunition so you can determine which ammo might suit your needs.

Ammo is primarily classified by its caliber, or the actual physical dimension of the round, either in inches or in millimeters. .40 Cal, pronounced forty caliber, refers to a bullet with a diameter of 0.4 inches; likewise, 9x19 mm describes a bullet that is 9 mm in diameter and 19 mm long. Your firearm is likely chambered in only one caliber, and should only be fed ammo of that same caliber.
