It's been a frequently debated topic nationwide after a Florida high school shooting that killed 17 people. The Senate on Tuesday approved the measure by Democratic Sen. Anthony Portantino of La Canada Flintridge, sending it to the Assembly on a 23-10 vote. |

As I argued in my weekend column, it is hard to imagine a more idle question than whether the Obama administration spied on the Trump campaign. Of course it did. If you want to argue the point, imagine what the professors, pundits, and pols would have said had the Bush administration run an informant against three Obama 2008 campaign officials, including the campaign co-chairman; any hair-splitting about whether that technically constituted spying would be met by ostracism from polite society.

Do Americans under 30 really hate guns?
Earlier this year, victims of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting engaged in class walkouts to protest the supposed easy access to guns after a disturbed gunmans six-minute murder spree. They were openly embraced by gun control advocates and anti-gun politicians, prominently featured and promoted by the media, and lauded as the fierce voice of the next generation that would finally act on gun control and maybe even turn elections. |

A Republican congresswoman and candidate to become Tennessees governor reportedly claimed pornography was one of several causes of mass school shootings during a meeting with religious leaders last week. Representative Diane Black offered several reasons for why she believed shootings continue to take place around the country, pointing to deterioration of the family" and the lack of a "good support system, as well as the failure to spot signs that a potential shooter may present, HuffPost reported Tuesday citing a recording of the meeting. |

Among my friends here in deepest blue Los Angeles, I am likely the only openly conservative Republican some of them know. And as a veteran, I am probably the closest contact theyve had with the military since sitting in the theater to watch American Sniper. So when events like the Las Vegas shootings occurred, knowledge of my personal history and political views would temporarily displace the usual Trump/Russia collusion banter and lead to genuinely uncomfortable conversations about guns. |

A recent survey of Michigan Education Association members found Michigan educators are strongly opposed to arming teachers with guns. Another option has been introduced in the Michigan House: arming teachers with pepper spray and Tasers. House Bills 6066 and 6067, introduced by State Rep. Beau LaFave, R-Iron Mountain, would allow any teacher to carry self-defense sprays and foams at their school. |

From the beginning, the state of Vermont has been running an experiment in Second Amendment-style freedom, as Vermont is the original constitutional carry state. If someone can legally carry a handgun, then they dont need a permit to do so in Vermont. At the same time, and by almost every measure, Vermont has long been one of the safest states in the nation. This drove the anti-gun Left crazy, as Vermont was proof in New England, of all places, that freedom works. |
