Winchester and the Browning Arms Company joined forces in 2001 to develop the 7mm Winchester Short Magnum (WSM) cartridge. The 7mm WSM was developed for hunting medium- and large-sized game at ranges out to 700 yards, providing a powerful cartridge that hunters can use in many different hunting situations. While it's not recommended for taking dangerous game or predators, it does have excellent performance with all game animals in North America including elk, deer and most others. |

Fifty years ago, I dared to debate a professor teaching a History Of The American West course. He said the invention of Colt revolvers was instrumental in settling the western frontier. In turn, I said, Revolvers are self-defense items. They are not used to conquer territory. As many readers might agree, contradicting a professor never ends well for the student.

After many years we have sort of a standard joke here at the ranch. We are removed from much of the mass humanity of the big cities, with the house and range being at 5,500′ in the mountains of southern Oregon. Being somewhat remote, we often hear, Man, if it goes south, like real Armageddon, I am going to the mountains to get away from the city and hide out!

On paper, the Stoeger M3000 seems like the perfect affordable semi-auto duck hunting shotgun. Its based on a proven inertia-driven platform. It handles and points wonderfully. And it can be yours for under $600, which is less than half the price of high-end, semi-auto duck guns. But sadly, we live in an imperfect world and the Stoeger M3000 is an imperfect shotgunor at least some of them are.

Ive been watching Joe Biden operate in Washington, D.C., for quite some time, although not nearly as long as the half century hes been navigating the corridors of power in our nations capital. And as long as Ive been involved with defending the Second Amendment, Biden has been working to gut it. His State of the Union (SOTU) address on March 1was just another opportunity for Joe to promote policies attacking the rights of law-abiding gun owners.

Gun owners have never had a level playing field on Twitter or any other social media platform. It was always as if someone was looking over your shoulder someone always was.
Anyone who has posted support for the Second Amendment on Twitter for any length of time Ive had an account since 2013 has more than a few horror stories about how they were mistreated by the platforms community standards apparatchiks. |

Second Amendment supporters often view success by what doesnt get passed. Dont get me wrong, stopping assaults on our Second Amendment rights is very important. But there is also a growing need to take the offensive. The fact is, there are some areas where legislation can make a big difference. The fact is, anti-Second Amendment extremists have opened new avenues to attack our rights, and in some cases, the only way to put a halt to them is by passing legislation and some legislation needs to be high priority.

The power and efficacy of the defensive or tactical shotgun mean that it is still a popular choice for home defense and personal protection. With new innovations like the growing acceptance of red dot sights and speedy reloads of a scattergun with a box-fed magazine mean that it will continue to be a useful tool for self-defense for years, if not decades or centuries, into the future. Here's some of the latest choices for tactical shotguns for 2022.

Ruger is advising owners of its SR22 pistols that a small number of the guns may have shipped with their right and left frame inserts improperly secured together. In rare circumstances, the condition presents the possibility that certain internal safety mechanisms will be rendered ineffective. If that occurs the pistol could potentially discharge upon decocking.

Designed by John M. Browning (b. 1855, d. 1926) and introduced to the world in 1908 in Colts new-at-the-time Model 1908 pocket hammerless semi-automatic pistol, the .380 ACP is an old round. Despite its age, .380 ACP is still popular today for concealed carry in small, sub-compact pistols. Small and lightweight, these pistols generally weigh around eight to 13 ounces and have a capacity of six to eight rounds.

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
In the end, more than freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility then Athens ceased to be free and was never free again. EDWARD GIBBON [On ancient Athens] |
