The saying goes that carrying a handgun is not supposed to be comfortable but comforting. But that isnt the reality for most people. If you feel the need to have a handgun, I say get the biggest gun you can shoot confidently with. But the truth is that many, if not a majority of gun ownerseven amongst first-timersare turning to pocket pistols for personal defense. Indeed this is a case of the more things change, the more they stay the same. Think of those old TV Westerns. You see nothing but 45-caliber Colts and Smith & Wessons riding in plain view, but the truth is less straightforward.

The nation is on two divergent paths when it comes to gun laws. Thats true of all kinds of things, but guns are an especially clear example. Some states are making it much easier to buy, own and carry all kinds of different weapons, while others are moving in the opposite direction. |

When it comes to varmint hunting, there are few rounds that can compete with the popularity and success of the 223 Remington. Since its release in 1964 and adoption by the US military, the 223 Rem has been nigh untouchable as the go-to option for plinking, long range target shooting, and varmint hunting. |

You cant swing a dead cat in a room of gun owners without hitting someone with very strong opinions about Glocks. But most of that love (or hatred) focuses on Glocks 9mm lineup. Its a bit misleading, given the company has more than 50 pistol options across eight popular calibers. So, if were being fair, Glock made plenty of space for the Lords caliber and one of Americas favorite rounds: the .45 ACP. Lets ditch the vanilla 9mm Glock debate for a bit and explore Glocks bigger-bore .45-caliber alternatives, namely the Glock 21 and the larger Glock 41.

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Today the taxing power, rather than chattel slavery, is the instrument by which the parasitical element of the population subsists. And that element, which includes politicians, panics at the slightest reduction in the state's power to plunder. Once you start liberating taxpayers, even a little tiny bit, nobody knows where it may end. Joseph Sobran |
